The SCU Bright Futures Student-Alumni Mentoring Program connects you with an industry mentor. Through this mentoring relationship, you’ll make connections between study and the world of work, network, exchange ideas and gain hints and tips from an experienced professional.

This fantastic mentoring opportunity is open to all students who have completed 6 units of study or more.

Hi there, my name is James and I'm almost into my 4th year of nursing as an RN. I started and have continued my career at Coffs Harbour Base Hospital with plans to move to Tweed next year. While I have spent my career at Coffs, I only ever completed one placement here. I currently work on the Ortho/Urology ward but have experience in renal dialysis and general surgery. This year I have acted on and off in a team leader role but still complete shifts on the floor. I want to take this opportunity to pass on the knowledge/experience that I wish I knew when I started my NewGrad to help you be better prepared when you start.
